In the stadiums where the Japanese football game was held I could not help but notice the Rising Sun Flag, the symbol that represented Imperialist Japan during the Second World War. The Rising Sun Flag in Asia is equivalent to that of the Swastika in Europe, and I cannot comprehend why the use of this flag was not banned in many of the games in the Olympics where it was frequently spotted among the crowd. The IOC must recognize that by allowing the use of this flag, they are reminding many Asians of the past acts of aggression and atrocities committed by the Japanese.

Everytime an event with Japan occurs, the RIsing Sun Flag is waved as well. This flag represented Imperialistic Japan during World War 2, and as such is a similar symbol to that of the Swastika by Nazi Germany. Many Asians find this flag to be degrading and insulting to them. Therefore I implore that this flag be prohibited. Do not allow this symbol of past aggression to be waved an event that is to promote the Spirit of Compeition.

I was so shocked while watching the men’s soccer game of 2012 London Olympics between Korea and Japan on Aug/11th.
I saw on TV that some fans were holding the flag of the Pacific war. As you know, this flag is also well known as the Rising Sun Flag, which was used by Japan during the Pacific war. It refers to Japan's justification for war crimes. Basically, it is exactly the same as the Swastika which is the symbol of Nazism.
As everyone knows, war crimes are catastrophes in human history, and bringing anything that could refer to war crimes should be strictly banned since this behavior is against the beautiful spirit of the Olympics. I feel very sad that IOC has not taken any proactive action to ban bringing these sorts of things to the stadium. As a result, many people around the world saw that symbol and were reminded of the pain caused by the Pacific war.Although this shameful event has already happened, I strongly believe IOC could solve this problem by banning this offensive symbol of war crimes from future games to prevent any further reoccurrences.

The Rising Sun Flag is the military flag of Japan. It was used as the war flag of the Imperial Japanese Army and the ensign of the Imperial Japanese Navy until the end of World War II. The flag was heavily used by the Japanese in the conquest and the occupation of East Asia, it is seen as offensive in countries which were victims of Japanese colonialism, largely because of the war crimes perpetrated by the Japanese military. This flag has similar meaning with Nazi flag. You should ban this flag in all Olympic games.

The use of political flags is banned in Olympics. It has been shown in Beijing(http://reut.rs/jpE8oY). However, the use of Rising Sun Flag was found often in London.
Rising Sun Flag is a legacy of Japanese Imperialism during the 2nd World War. It is regarded as an offensive emblem for countries that suffered from it since it works a sign of conquest of East Asia. But I saw audience holding them while cheering. Japanese gymnasts wore uniforms motivated from it(http://bit.ly/P7BTql). Its use in Olympics is hurting others that suffered great loss from the war. It’s same as using Swastika to cheer Germany. I know that its use is banned in countries due to offensive implication and disrespect to the victims.
It is hurting and offensive to see emblem carrying POLITICAL implications making war as heroic event. If the IOC is aware of the significance of war crimes and its justification, PLEASE warn Japan not to use it and respect the audience from countries that have been suffering.

★항의문 작성시 주의사항
솔직히 지금 우리 입장은 을인 상태라서 독도 관련문제를 키우면 안됨.
그건 일본애들이 원하는 거고 , 최대한 IOC심기 거스르지 않는 방법(독도문제언급x)으로
박종우 선수한테 영향이 가지 않도록 해야함. 독도분쟁까진 조용히 있는게 유리한 거고
또 박선수 관련해서는 위 기사링크에 있는 윤리적 패션 디자이너 위원회 반박처럼 "표현의 자유" 측면에서 접근해 일본 체조 선수의 경기 중 정치적 메시지를 담은 의상은 허용되면서, 경기 후 우발적으로 관중의 응원 피켓을 들고 서 있던 박종우는 처벌하는 건 부당한 일이다는 식의 논리적 주장+증거를 들며 조목조목 반박을 해야함.
전범기는 관중이 들었으니 처벌이 힘들다고 해도 전범기 무늬 체조복은 상황이 전혀 다름.
우리는 우발적으로 든 거고 너희는 계획적으로 옷 해 입은 거라는 걸 지적해야 함.
더불어 전범국으로서 가질 수 없는 자위대에 관한 발언들도 문제가 있으니
독도 세레머니 관련하여 일본 쪽이 과잉반응을 했다는 생각도 어필해야 함.
독도사건(?)를 방어하기 위한게 아니라 전범기 그 자체만으로 판결을 봐야함!!!
또 ‘욱일승천기는 추악하다’식의 감정적인 항의보다는 국제화합을 지향하는 올림픽에서 일본 우익의 군국주의를 상징하는 전범기 디자인의 공식 유니폼을 입고, 전범기를 관중석에서 휘날리며 전세계에 전파를 타도록 하는 것은 정치적목적+일본우익광고를 위해 올림픽을 정치적으로 이용하는 거라는 논리적인 어필을 해야함.
기미가요도 같은 맥락임. 독일에서 나치찬양노래 갖고 올림픽 나온다하면 존나 전쟁임-_-
즉 기미가요+ 전범기 든 관중(이것은 베이징올림픽때 경고받은 전례도 있음) + 전범기를 모티브로한 체조선수들의 유니폼 +특히 "욱일승천기 = 나치 깃발" 이걸 강조해야함.
지금 하는 항의는 메달 박탈은 안되도 일본에게 아주 경고의 의미를 주는데에 의의가 있음. 일본의 악행을 전세계적으로도 알리며 저것들이 떠드는 말도 안 되는 주장에 정면대응하는 방편으로 삼자는 것. 우리나라 동메달 못 뺏는 것처럼 체조도 그러하지만 현재 진행되고 있는 망상종자들의 더러운 야욕에 찬물을 퍼부어 주자는 뜻임!!
다시 한번 강조하지만 이번 일은 그냥 넘어가선 안됨. 전범기사건이 한두번도 아니고 이번 일로 인해 아예 뿌리채 뽑아버려야함ㅡㅡ 한 단체에서 의견 넣었다고 해서 IOC전체가 심각성을 알리 만무하고 수많은 네티즌들도 같이 힘을 합쳐서 의견을 제시해야 심각성을 깨달음.

Japenese are support their match through the rising-sun-flag.

I was so shocked while watching the men’s soccer game of 2012 London Olympics between Korea and Japan on Aug/11th.
I saw on TV that some fans were holding the flag of the Pacific war. As you know, this flag is also well known as the Rising Sun Flag, which was used by Japan during the Pacific war. It refers to Japan's justification for war crimes. Basically, it is exactly the same as the Swastika which is the symbol of Nazism.
As everyone knows, war crimes are catastrophes in human history, and bringing anything that could refer to war crimes should be strictly banned since this behavior is against the beautiful spirit of the Olympics. I feel very sad that IOC has not taken any proactive action to ban bringing these sorts of things to the stadium. As a result, many people around the world saw that symbol and were reminded of the pain caused by the Pacific war.Although this shameful event has already happened, I strongly believe IOC could solve this problem by banning this offensive symbol of war crimes from future games to prevent any further reoccurrences.

As an avid sports enthusiast, long time Olympics supporter and United States citizen, I’d like to congratulate the International Olympic Committee on this year’s outstanding and often spectacular 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Every two years I look forward to watching the world’s finest athletes come together on the world stage to perform outstanding exhibits of human spirit, world unity and national pride.
This year’s Olympic Games appeared to be without much controversy, however, I’d like to point out that there appears to be a issue that the IOC has overlooked. Case in point, the use and display of the Rising Sun Flag called the Kyokujitsu-ki, the military flag of Japan, which in at least one competition was displayed by spectators yet more offensively was used as a pattern on the Japanese gymnast’s uniforms.
During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Japanese fans were warned not to display the Rising Sun Flag because it is an offensive military symbol in many Asian countries of wartime past and recalls Japanese military occupation, oppression and wartime atrocities.
I understand that in Asia where countries suffered the loss of more than 20 million people at the hands of the Japanese during the Pacific War the display of this wartime symbol is comparable to the display of a Nazi flag in Europe.
If, as we are told by the Olympic Games sports broadcasters, that one of the goals of the Olympics is to bring cultural understanding, acceptance and respect to the world’s countries, then I would strongly suggest that the IOC review Japan’s use of the Rising Sun Flag and associated imagery. I believe it would be insensitive and irresponsible of the IOC if no action was taken to ban the use of this Asian wartime symbol from the Olympic Games.
Positive symbols such as the rings of the Olympic Games depicting the five world’s continents can bring people together, but symbols such as the Rising Sun Flag conjures up hurtful memories to those nations that suffered from Japanese hatred. Can you imagine if spectators cheered with the display of the Nazi flag or any associated symbols on a competition uniform?
